How does Soft Washing Exterior Cleaning work?
A soft wash chemical mix is applied under low pressure to a building or surface. The special mix is a blend of specially developed ‘soft wash’ chemicals which are designed to treat organic and non-organic staining. This chemical mix remains on the surface of the building for a period of time depending on the nature of the structure, and is then rinsed off with water, also under low pressure. The soft washing process uses a combination of steam and water.
This process:
- Removes all organic growth and infestation
- Removes most carbon staining and all spinnerets, cobwebs, insect nests etc.
- Following a soft washing treatment any more persistent stains will be gently steamed using a Thermotech machine
- Upon removal of staining, a final wash is applied which not only neutralises any chemical residue left but also applies a finishing waxing soap which slows down any recolonisation of organic life on the building.
