Donation to Local Hospice In Lieu of Sending Christmas Cards
The team at It’s Clean decided that instead of sending out Christmas cards in December 2018, they would make a donation to support the amazing work undertaken by Saint Michael’s Hospice across the Harrogate district.
For each person that is given the devastating news that they have a terminal illness, Saint Michael’s is there to ensure that they are treated with dignity and respect, to help them find answers to difficult questions and to enable them to live as fully as possible to the end of their life.
Saint Michael’s is a place where patients can totally be themselves, without worrying about how their illness is affecting other people.
Saint Michael’s care for people with a variety of terminal illnesses, including heart failure, respiratory illnesses, neurological conditions and cancer. Care is provided in people's homes, hospitals, care homes and at the hospice itself.
Services include:
- Specialised support at home
- Hospice care, including day therapy and inpatient care
- Lymphoedema management
- Support for families and carers
- Bereavement support
It currently costs £5 million a year to provide this local hospice care and training for others to offer hospice standard care. Around eighty percent of this work is funded by individuals, companies, trusts and foundations.
